General Notes:
After fruitless searches for the birth of Ann Arnold, who married William Blackmore in 1819, the problem was solved when I got sight of a Prayer Book passed down through the Blackmore family - via son William, his son William Henry and so on to the Skyrme family. Unfortunately one line had been obliterated by information written by William Blackmore (b 1826).
The transcription is : (front page) This book is never to be sold out of the Blackmore family ?????? of born ????????????????? July 30th 1841
William Blackmore May 6th 1862 This Common Prayer book was the property of John Arnold at the ??? date of 1818. He was my Mother's first husband. He died that same year, signed by William Blackmore son of William Blackmore, born April 12 1826. So it has been in our family since that time.
Written sideways on the page was This book was John Arnolds of Burrington the year 1818
(back page) Ann Blackmore daughter of John Baker and Joan his wife was - And there it ends!
(the date May 6th 1862 referred to above is interesting as Ann died on 11th May. The reference to July 30th 1841 is still unclear)
